Darlys S. Harmon-Vaught, Certified Divorce Financial Analyst™, has been providing financial divorce analysis services since 2002. Her experience as a CDFA is complemented by her previous 21-year career as a financial consultant. It is her goal as a CDFA to provide thorough, objective financial analysis and present the findings in a way that is clear and understandable to all parties.

Her career background includes working as a CDFA at Smith-Barney (2002-2007), by providing her services on pro bono basis through the brokerage firm. She also served as Senior Vice President, Wealth Management and Financial Planning Specialist while at Smith-Barney (2000-2007). Prior to that engagement, Darlys was Senior Vice President, Investments, at Hilliard Lyons (1986-2000).

Education

Darlys holds an undergraduate degree in education from Georgetown College (1974), a master’s degree in education from the University of Kentucky (1975), an education specialist degree (1980) and a doctorate degree in education from the University of Louisville (1986). She brings an invaluable teaching component to her consultancy that allows her to clearly demonstrate various scenarios and “what if” situations to her clients so they have full understanding of the choices and options specific to their individual financial circumstances. Clients can feel confident they have been treated fairly, believe they are well informed, and feel empowered as they understand their financial future.


Achievements and Recognition

Darlys has received numerous awards and recognitions for her outstanding work in the field of finance. She was named “Outstanding Broker” by Registered Representative Magazine, 1994, and named to “Who’s Who in Accounting/Finance” for 1995 by Business First of Louisville. Darlys also has published articles on investing in The Courier-Journal. Channel 41 WDRB news anchor Don Schroeder has interviewed Darlys as a financial expert for the station's feature program "It's Your Money", and she continues as a financial interview resource person for the station.
